House Boat Tariff | Backwater Package
Long before the coming of the rail and the road, waterways were the best mode of transport. Kuttanadan rice was transported to nearby markets of Kottayam, Kollam and cochin by long rice boats which just had a small hut for the boatman called Kettuvallams. Some of these Kettuvallams have now been converted into luxury single, double and triple bedroom houseboats for cruises and overnight stay in the backwaters. For a total Alappuzha experience traverse the canals and anchor in the middle of the backwater lakes on a house boat - spend the night under the star lit sky, listening to the slash of water on to the boat. If you are a fishing enthusiast, cast the net-wait for your big catch sufficient for a spicy dinner of rice and fish. Awake in the early morning listening to the seagulls and the slash of small fishing boats making their way for the daily catch. Do not miss the mind capturing beauty of the sunrise on the horizon.
